Friday was my first doctor’s appointment. I’m going to a new doctor this time and am thrilled about it! I will see only this doctor the entire time and he will deliver me (no more going to a huge practice). He has an office in Provo. He is awesome.

I had put off going in as long as I could, but started to feel nervous since at 13 weeks you still can’t feel movement. An ultrasound was just what I needed to confirm that the baby is alive and well (and that there is only one... no need to buy a new car!). I even got to see him/her wiggle around a bit. So cute!

The girls have been choosing to have iChat lessons lately rather than going to our teacher’s home. It has been working out really well (as long as I can keep Tyler away). I admit that it’s nice to skip the driving.

Next week we will have an in-person lesson ‘cause we’re due for one, but I love having this option!

Just before October hit, I pulled out all the Halloween/orange/fall books in the library. I love several of these titles, particularly “Too Many Pumpkins” by Linda White and “One Fine Day” by Nonny Hogrogian. Another favorite of Andrew’s is “The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything.” He likes joining in the reading on that one.

Talk about the power of motivation... Adam was bummed the other night when the girls got to ride the mini motorbike and he couldn’t... because he hadn’t yet proved himself on a bicycle. (He has ridden before without training wheels, but never enough to confidently ride around.) The very next morning, he hopped on his bike and cruised around the street! Happy day indeed!

Conference was awesome! The kids loved our “Conference Cupcakes” (muffins) in the morning, and couldn’t wait to use their binders. Andrew happily manned the Conference Center board, and Tyler napped during the first session.

The second session was a totally different story. Tyler was not in a sharing mood and violently harassed Andrew, trying to boot Andrew out of his chair.

It wasn’t pretty. (Adam is trying to stop Tyler from biting Andrew.) Jon had to intervene, big time.

Thankfully, Tyler repented and changed his ways. Sharing is so much better, isn’t it?

Andrew was good at sharing, too, and helped Tyler with the Conference Board.

In-between Saturday sessions was relaxing and enjoyable. I had burned the pumpkin muffins (breakfast), so they were quite dry, but the BBQ pork on homemade rolls for lunch turned out amazing! Phew! I’m glad I made it all the day before so there was only cleanup on Saturday.

The girls rode the bullet bike around our sidewalk again,

Jon fixed bikes, mowed the back yard, dug a hole for a tree-stump-chair and sanded it, and the kids played on the swings and rode bikes. I... took pictures and soaked it all in. The weather was perfect!

the boys and Jon blew up 2 tomatoes with firecrackers, Jon scaled our tree to remove a dead branch,

Sunday’s Conference Cupcakes turned out much better since I didn’t burn them. The lunch menu changed since I couldn’t find the hot dogs, but Whitney’s chicken and rice recipe was a great choice since it was so fast, easy and very yummy! (I threw it in the oven that morning.)

The Conference board above is how things stood after Saturday. Knowing that Elder Holland spoke in the priesthood session, we chose these labels for our treats. The kids were so excited that it was Sunday!

I almost rigged it Saturday morning because after a few speakers we were thirsty, but when Elder Ballard was announced the kids all cheered and I laughed (since he was on the Propel water and I wouldn’t

have to rig anything). They were most excited for that flavored water! It is yummy!  The treats

all worked out really well. Dividing them up in baggies ahead of time made distribution so fast and easy, and portion control was perfect, too. Tyler got a taste of how awesome Sunday General Conference is. We don’t normally get treats like this, so the kids all felt it was really special.

So here is the end result. I love this board! Jeanette’s modifications are making me debate about modifying mine. A second version is usually better than a first. Hmmmm.

I really love General Conference time. I relish the relaxed time with my kids and Jon, and focusing on the words of our living prophets! Now to apply it....
