Tyler handled passing out the apostle treats every time a member of the first presidency or quorum of the twelve apostles spoke.

Saturday, April 6

We started off with a little traditional Breakfast Pizza... mmmmm!

I got the boys outside as much as possible before start time.

I prepped binders for the boys (and myself) the night before. My conference board was ready to go and Tyler and Mark both spent a lot of time with it. I love that it directs them toward conference - particularly listening to what the speakers are saying.

I love my Conference Center board!

In-between sessions we had Hawaiian Haystacks, which I’d like to make a new conference tradition. They are super yummy and all the kids loved them!

The boys hit the tramp again after conference. Their sleeping bag games are pretty funny. We actually let them jump on the trampoline during the songs instead of running laps inside this year. Tyler claimed that he can get more energy out on the trampoline. Hey, whatever it takes!

Tyler and his backflips... he is so good at them!

Jon took Adam and Andrew to Northstar for Priesthood Session. They had time before for the boys to try out Pickle Ball, which they liked.

This year wasn’t as awesome (at the office) as years past and Jon decided he wants the boys to dress up and they’ll either go to the church or to the Conference Center together to make it more special. Their experience in the Conference Center last time was super memorable.

Sunday, April 7

We found my dad’s blonde doppelgänger in the Tabernacle Choir (the guy in the top middle with glasses. The kids would call out, “I see Grandpa Heap’s twin!”

It is amazing how much my investment in the kids’ general conference experience has paid off. Training them from very young to sit through all sessions of conference has worked! We keep it positive and enjoyable, the expectations are set, and all of the kids from age 17 down to 7 are prepared and excited to listen to every talk. They take notes or draw during the talks. I am so grateful! At this stage I am able to listen intently to conference, enjoy it, and take notes myself!

Mark asked Jon to help him pull out his top tooth during the Sunday afternoon session. You can see that he teared up, but was a tough cookie.

After Conference Chili and cornbread, Jon took the kids up to the park to watch the paragliders landing. I stayed home and updated my Conference Center board and packets for next conference.

We ended the night as a family playing Bananagrams at Amy’s instigation. I was impressed with Mark’s skills.

I really love General Conference and am so glad that my kids do too!
