In the past I used colored beads on a ring for Articles of Faith memorizations. The kids loved this too, but it was hard to keep track of further memorizations with colored beads. (This was for a second round after they had already received the “Articles of Faith Certified” pin.)

My charms craze started with wanting to add an initial for the child along with a 13 to show this was the 13 Articles of Faith memorization ring.

(Mark’s stand)

Then I couldn’t help myself and bought a charm for each Article of Faith:

1 - a sun to represent the glory of the godhead
2 - an apple (fall)
3 - earth (all mankind may be saved)
4 - faith (first step)
5 - number 5 (although I had great ideas, I couldn’t find charms for these two)
6 - number 6
7 - gift
8 - Bible
9 - glasses (revelation)
10 - Star of David
11 - church
12 - crown
13 - heart

Charms bracelets are very girly even though I tried to pass them off as “chains” and hung them straight across two holders. I switched to these cake pop sticks and the boys each made themselves a Lego holder for their charms. They love them!

Adam made a triple decker for his memorization charms:

Bottom row: Book of Mormon keywords He has memorized all of them!

Middle row: Articles of Faith

Top row: all the others:
Books in the Book of Mormon
Books in the New Testament
Books in the Old Testament
contents of the Doctrine & Covenants and Pearl of Great Price
Latter-day Prophets
Modern day Apostles
Sacrament Prayers
10 Commandments

Andrew preferred to squish his on 2 rows.

Tyler made a double decker to fit all his extra charms on. The younger guys’ charms are earned at a slower rate, but they have been motivated to earn them nonetheless! The Book of Mormon charm was on backorder and I was so excited when it came in the mail!

I am super happy about this new excitement to memorize important gospel tidbits. It has even motivated me to memorize the Book of Mormon keywords! I’m making a charm bracelet for myself rather than a Lego stand. We’ll see how far I can go. Both Adam and Andrew finished all of them. I’m only done with 2 Nephi!
