I could not get enough of Mark in his little costume today!

Andrew had his first turn as the (coveted) donkey.

After pictures and our opening song, Mark got to open the first Easter egg to find a donkey, palm leaves, and a jar. I read about the Anointing at Bethany, and then the kids acted out Jesus’ Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem while Jon read the script.

I love that Mark held onto the donkey’s ears.

We discussed more about palm leaves, the donkey, and the word “hosanna,” then sang a closing song and had family prayer.

Last year, we had a nice Palm Sunday meal with these cool table settings. (I found some small palm branches at Michael’s, separated them, and tied a gold ribbon around each one.)

Last year, we talked a lot more about the anointing at Bethany, and had the kids smell a bunch of different oils and lotions.

I love the All Season Blocks I made a while back.

We have several Easter sets around the house.

I also let Tyler decorate the house with lambs. (These pics were taken last year.)

Last year, I also made a Palm Sunday display for the front door, and this was the Easter book display from then as well.

Today was a great start to Easter Week! I’m assuming it will all be more low key than past years thanks to our busier schedule, but I love how much the kids love celebrating a Christ-Centered Easter!
