Coolest Valentine Box Ever!
Last night, after Jon got home from work, he programmed up an iPad app for Natalie’s Valentine box. I’m pretty sure she’ll be the only kid at school with an iPad-driven Valentine acceptor!
While Jon picked out sound effects for it and tweaked the app, I taped up the box with electrical tape, and silver and black duct tape, which can be tricky. I added a heart on the back for fun.
(Natalie had tried to cover the box in black by herself earlier in the day, but I gave her lame supplies (all I could think of using), so it looked bad, so we took it all off. Jon suggested electrical tape, but I ran out of it, so ran to the store after the kids were in bed, and had to finish it that night without her.)
I can’t wait to hear how it goes at school.
The iPad has arrows moving up toward the slot and says “Insert Valentine.” It detects when a Valentine is dropped into the slot, and makes a noise, then shows a conversation heart and “thank you.” Natalie is pretty excited to show it off at school!
Here’s a little video demo:
