checking out the falling snow

I’ll admit that it’s nice to snuggle up in a sweatshirt and flip on the electric fireplace. I do love fall!

The day after Adam’s birthday, out came all of the Halloween and fall decorations - nothing fancy,

...but the kids love it all. Some of it I have had forever!

...like when I came to college eighteen years ago. The Halloween music is out, too!

Adam disapproves of this “Happy Harvest” guy since he isn’t scary, but I’m not really into “scary.” He says I should wait until Thanksgiving to put him up.

Our jack-o-lantern jars are in our library window this year since I have a huge collection of empty jars waiting to be made into an indoor set for our living room.

The kids were a bit upset with me that I decorated while they were gone at school (oops). I did leave a few things for them to put up. Andrew was the first to use the window clings.

There are the Halloween and Fall books I’ve mentioned, as well as the kids’ Halloween drawings hung up in the library.

Only a boy would use my ghosts as target practice! (That’s a first, and most likely not a last.) Adam and Andrew can hit them, too!

The boys and I enjoyed the perfect weather right before the storm!

We love this “Boo Who?” game! It’s an exclusively October game for us. Even Jon enjoyed it. Keeping track of who’s who is an exciting challenge for all of us. (Adam just won and is thrilled that it really is his green piece underneath the ghost.)

(And can I just say that I’m so excited for the new iPhone 4s to come out with its faster camera and greater capability to capture light? Then my around-the-house, low-light shots won’t be so blurry!)

Here is some great classical Halloween music: The 50 Darkest Pieces of Classical Music (I bought a “Classical Halloween Collection” CD before I found the first).

I also have these songs on a separate Halloween Playlist (more for dancing): Monster Mash, Purple People Eater, Love Potion No. 9, Ghostbusters, Thriller, Kung Fu Fighting, Men In Black, Adam’s Family Theme, Witch Doctor, Rock Lobster, Can’t Touch This, I’m A Mean Old Witch With a Hat (Joy School CD) and First You Take A Pumpkin (Joy School).

And this is the piano music for our family’s favorite Halloween song: Mr. Jack O’ Lantern.
