Easter Days Three and Four
Nightly devotionals are going swimmingly. The mid-week parable telling is always short, sweet and fun. Yesterday’s lesson on the widow’s mite and the parable of the bicycle turned out really neat. I didn’t expect to tie those two together, but the message sunk in of the importance of giving our all to the Lord in the way the widow did with her substance as well as her heart. The Parable of the Bicycle taught that message on the kids’ level really well. Through these stories, we learned about the atonement in a really neat way. I love learning as I go.
Happy Easter Week!
The kids were ecstatic to dress up yet another time tonight for the Parable of the Ten Virgins. Andrew wanted to play the part of Jesus again, which worked out well since we needed a bridegroom. Adam was an oil merchant, Amy wanted to be a “foolish” virgin and Natalie happily took the role of a “wise” virgin. We acted it out three times, by the kids’ request (they were having a lot of fun). Here is the third time through (they wanted to do it one more time so Jon could record it and they could watch it later):
Here are some of the symbols for the lessons. (My picture wall is right above this.) Next year I plan to have the symbols inside Easter eggs on an Easter tree.
