I Heart February!
The Valentine’s bin has been opened. Let the fun begin! This year I made this cute fish bowl of scriptures about love to read every day. After reading the verse, there’s an attribute to put into action for the day. So far my anti-morning nature has been the problem in making this meaningful. I’ve managed to have the girls choose a heart and read it before school, but that’s it. So tonight we read it during our nightly family scripture time instead and it worked out much better.
Especially during such chaos, it’s nice to have an excuse to make things extra fun in February.
The jewels in the bowl give the hearts a place to stand up. Otherwise they all lie flat on the bottom.
This picture is terrible, I know, but at least you can see the heart-shaped meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Crazy? Yes I am, but I love it and so do the kids.
The Valentines books are out,
and the food is getting heart-attacked.
our construction-zone breakfast this morning
When Adam came downstairs he exclaimed, “Mom, our table is covered in plastic!”
This would be why the boys ate on the floor. (That’s primer in the dining area.)
Jon touching up the primer:
I couldn’t resist these cool straw cups from Target. The kids really dig them!
