May your Easter remind you of Jesus Christ, His life, atonement, and resurrection for us all. Happy Easter!

On Sunday. We acted out Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem. This was the first year in a while I haven’t had to beg a child (usually the youngest) to participate! Andrew was so excited to play his part, and Adam was pumped about being the donkey/colt. It was dreamy.

Monday was the day Jesus cleansed the temple. We talked about how our homes should also be like the temple and how Jesus would feel if He came into our home. What would He need to cleanse or change so He’d want to be here? We sang “If the Savior Stood Beside Me” which always touches my heart. I love this lesson!

Tuesday was my easy day. While the kids were in the bath, I read to them “You Are Priceless - The Parable of the Bicycle” by Stephen E. Robinson.

Wednesday was the first time we’ve acted out The Ten Virgins play (one of the last parables Jesus told). The kids were thrilled to dress up for a second time this week! The girls were “wise” and I was “foolish.” Adam was the bridegroom, Andrew was the merchant selling oil, and Jon was (as always) the narrator. It was short and sweet, and we all loved it! The kids even got to figure out the “secret” meaning behind the parable (I used “secret” to make it more exciting to them.) This is one I definitely want to repeat.

Thursday (tonight) we learned about The Last Supper and Gethsemane. We ate a special dinner with foods from Jesus’ time, including lamb. Since The Last Supper was a Passover meal, we watched part of The Ten Commandments when the first Passover happened, and talked about how Jesus is the sacrificial lamb; that through His sacrifice we are saved from spiritual and physical death. The lesson went very well and I think the kids really understood the concepts.

In the spirit of Easter, I’ll share this wonderful video with you:

So far, so good! I’m happy with how the week is going.
