Mom Walks
One of the hardest things for me in having my fifth child has been missing one-on-one time with my other kids. So I’ve been making an extra effort to make that happen. This is our second week of “Mom-Walks” and I’m loving it! I’ve taken the three older kids out for a walk around the block one at a time so we can talk and be together - just us. It doesn’t take much time, but it sure feels great and they can’t wait for their turn. It’s so interesting to listen to what each child has to say. Last week, Amy and Adam were really interested in the fall leaves and Halloween decorations that were out while Natalie just wanted to talk and talk about her social life. This week Amy told me all about her adventures with her friends, and Adam told me a lengthy story that he made up about his robot arm and such. I tried to introduce a new subject, but he insisted on continuing with the story - so cute.
These walks remind me of “rocking time” with my mom, which my siblings and I just loved. I need to add that to our routine for sure, especially when winter sets in!
