Christmas Eve
Our final devotional for December happened Christmas Eve with the kids acting out the Nativity. Andrew didn’t want to be anything -- a sheep, then nothing, a king, nothing, then finally a sheep wearing a crown, holding a reindeer. This program is also a work in progress, but it is in binders already, which made things easy. I adapted this from a program my sister Sharon created, (mainly shortening it).
I printed out the Christmas carols from this site and inserted it in the correct places. We used bells for In A Little Stable. I’m not sure about the Copyright on that one (fill me in if you know). I typed it out in Finale Notepad so it’s easier to read than my hand-written copy. Here is the program and that song.
Merry Christmas!
I’d love to have your input on improving this Christmas Eve program, so let me know if you have any suggestions! I try to keep it short and sweet for little kids while touching all the important parts.
Thanks to the 24 Days of Christmas devotionals, I felt like the kids were well prepared, knowing all of the background to this important event. That was especially nice since you never know how much they’ll get out of it on Christmas Eve (the boys were both really tired and not so into it, but at least Adam learned tons from the 24 Days stuff).
(I’ll also post these files on my Favorites page.)
Amy (Mary), Natalie (angel), Adam (Joseph), Andrew (a wise sheep)
We made cookies for Santa and left a carrot for the reindeer to share. It was the first thing Amy checked when she ran downstairs in the morning!
Sharon also made these amazing costumes for us a few Christmases ago. Thank you again, Sharon!
