I was pleased with our costumes, though they weren’t extravagant. The girls and I were princesses. Adam was a very expected dinosaur, Jon a paleontologist, and Andrew a fossil (his sign said, “Fossil #0004 Baby Lundosaurus.”)

We made a record-breaking trek of our neighborhood this year. Natalie is too old now to be fooled that we’re done after only visiting the “upper and lower U” in our neighborhood. The others were valiant little hikers, despite requests for returning home and exclamations of tired feet. They all loaded up with candy, and we enjoyed seeing the people in our ward.

My favorite door approach came from Adam. Walking up to Sister Rhoads he said, with all the earnestness his little heart could muster, “Trick-or-Treat!! I LOVE you!” Hers were the only ears to receive that high compliment! So cute! (He has never met her before.)

I was amazed at the pumpkins carved by our neighbor Laura. There were at least 25 carved masterpieces - including exact resemblances of her 3 children! Amazing. Here are just some of her pumpkins:

This was the first year we missed visiting Rosie and David. It got too late, the kids were tired, and Gary & M’Jean wanted to iChat with us. We enjoyed that, let the kids reap the rewards of their labor, had them thoroughly brush their teeth, and put them all to bed.

I stayed up late reading Pride and Prejudice - I’m almost done!
