Amy picked out the pumpkin face she wanted from a few choices I found on the internet: a silly face. Adam’s was, of course, a Tyrannosaurus Rex, and (after school) Natalie drew the pumpkin face she wanted on a piece of paper, which I then copied.

Amy was so patient while I first scraped out Adam’s pumpkin, took a break, and then did hers. Then when I cut out Adam’s pumpkin first, followed by hers. What a sweet girl I have!

When I taped the T-Rex picture onto Adam’s pumpkin, he patted it with excitement and contentment. I didn’t understand at first why he started flipping out when I traced its outline with a knife. He continued his tantrum in outrage when I cut deeper and began pulling out pieces. Then I understood that he thought the taped paper picture was the end result. After a while of weeping and wailing, he calmed down and said, “It’s alright that you’re doing that to my pumpkin.” He saved the cut-out Tyrannosaurus Rex picture and carried it around in his trick-or-treating bucket. You can see him holding it in the picture below:

The pumpkins looked fabulous all lit up! (I’m sad the candle in Amy’ The pumpkins looked fabulous all lit up! (I’m sad the candle in Amy’s died down a bit right before the picture.) s died down a bit right before the picture.)
